2nd Opp in Juvenile Justice

The 2nd Opportunity Program consists of five video based courses focused on employment readiness, financial literacy, life skills, career paths and barriers to re-entry. Upon completion of each course, students receive a certificate of achievement. Learn more information about our one-of-a kind program here.

Depending on your preferred delivery method, we have the option to incorporate supplemental programs: groups of courses to target a range of issues from high school equivalency preparation and substance abuse, to parenting and mental health. We can also assist in implementing a high school equivalency testing program by liaising with your local educational institutes.

Delivery Methods

The 2nd Opportunity Program is available in both English and Spanish and can be customized to address a facility’s specific needs. Our options of self-paced or group classes (or both!) allow us to meet the needs of both facilities and individuals in a secure and productive fashion.

Our Features

Post-release support

We offer a complete array of referrals for employment, housing, education, training, social services, substance abuse treatment facilities, and veteran services. We also offer access to peer support groups and provide mentors as needed.

We offer two versions of our prison-compliant workbooks: Companion Workbooks and Personal Re-entry Plans. The Companion Workbooks include activities, quizzes, and journal questions plus the text of the video courses. The Personal Re-entry Plan includes activities, quizzes, and journal questions only.

Walkthroughs (virtual or in person) allow us to meet with potential students and explain the origin, value, and benefits of the program. This results in higher enrollment of enthusiastic participants.

Workshops and Roundtables

Our workshops guide students though the program to keep them inspired and drive course completion. They are impactful and done virtually or in person. Our roundtables allow a diverse group of our Thought Leaders to share, not only their experience but inspirational stories of how they got to be where they are today.
